SAN SEBASTIANO CURONE
San Sebastian Curone is a lively agricultural and commercial centre, as well as being a summer holiday hotspot for the Curone Valley. Over time the town's typically Ligurian features have remained intact.
The spectacular town square is decked with a series of elegant, Liberty style buildings. In the centre of town, Giane Castle stands out due to its massive size.
The town was protagonist to historical events such as: the life and works of the painter Felice Giani (1758-1823), a famed artist from the era between the Neoclassical and Romantic periods; and the death of the renowned English entomologist William Elford Leach, whose life ended in 1836 due to cholera.
Some of this town's well known touristic highlights include Arteinfiera, an event during which craft shops and ateliers are opened to the public for visits and purchases.
San Sebastian Curone is renowned for truffles, and in
the autumn, hosts an extremely popular market fair. It is also famous for renowned cheeses like Montebore and top quality cold meats.
